Based in the coastal town of Bournemouth in Dorset, you can visit one of the last built Victorian manor houses in the UK. Originally built for his wife Annie Russell-Coates as a birthday present by Merton Russel-Coates, the building named East Cliff Hall was completed in 1901. Years later Annie donated the property and its contents to Bournemouth town which is now the art gallery and museum. This building is also a Grade II listed building in the UK which are given to properties or structures that have historic importance.
The property is located next to the Royal Bath Hotel which overlooks the beautiful surrounding scenic views of Bournemouth beach and pier.
The art galleries and museum host a wide assortment of fine art, not only from England but around the world. There are also two yearly exhibitions which support the works of the main art collection. The Russel-Cotes contains four galleries with art collected from England and around different countries.
The main East Cliff Hall property has a garden that not only has natural beauty, but marble and sculptures. Interestingly, there is also a beautiful Japanese garden which contains fish ponds and bridges.
The property also has a cafe and shop for visitors.
With close proximity to Bournemouth beach, local accommodation and other tourist attractions the Russel Cotes art gallery and museum is easy to access.
