The Oceanarium is home to hundreds of different creatures, ranging from birds, other mammals, fish, invertebrates and reptiles.
The Bournemouth Oceanarium has range of different displays to mimic habitats of the different creatures that they home. Some of these are: Amazon, Crocodile area, Otter area, Shark reef, Abyss, Penguin area, Jellyfish area, marine research laboratory, Key West, Asia and Africa. There is also a kid’s play zone.
Apart from viewing the different animals at their displays, the Oceanarium also has various animal experiences for visitors. These are: a penguin feeding experience, spending the day with the Aquarist team, handling some animals like a bearded dragon lizard, turtle feeding, further viewing of Otters, reef shark feeding, zebra shark feeding and stingray feeding.
After enjoying the displays and activities in the aquarium there is a cafe and gift shop for customers. The cafe serves drink refreshments and hot and cold food. The gift shop has a lot of variety so you will always find the perfect souvenir. There is also a viewing terrace that serves refreshments which overlook the beautiful views of Bournemouth beach. This terrace, however, is only open during the British summer holidays.
